Wie fühlt es sich an mit hunderten Fahrradfahrern Seite an Seite durch die Hamburger Innenstadt zu fahren? Sehr sehr geil! – Das weiß ich nun, nachdem ich heute an der Critical Mass Veranstaltung teilgenommen habe.

Die genaue Anzahl der Teilnehmer kenne ich nicht, aber es waren sicherlich 500-800 Menschen aller Altersklassen. Zu sehen gab es absolut alle Variationen an Bikes, die in dieser Stadt existieren – Einfach der Hammer. Sogar Touristen haben mit den Leihbikes teilgenommen. Musik dröhnte aus Lautsprechern auf Radanhängern, bunte Lichter überall, wo man hinsah.
I don't know the exact number of participants, but there were certainly 500-800 people of all ages. You could see absolutely all variations of bikes that exist in this city - madness! Even tourists took part with the rental bikes. Music roared from loudspeakers on wheel trailers, colorful lights everywhere, where one looked.
Begleitet von Motorradpolizei fuhr die Kolone im gemäßigten Tempo durch die Stadt. Trotz kühlen Temperaturen hatten alle Teilnehmer sichtlich gute Laune. Für mich war diese Ausfahrt etwas besonders. Wann sonst bekommt man die Gelegenheit sich die Stadt auf dem Rad anzuschauen, ohne auf Ampeln und den Verkehr zu achten.
Accompanied by motorcycle police, the colonists drove through the city at a moderate pace. Despite cool temperatures all participants were in a good mood. For me this trip was something special. When else do you get the chance to see the city on the bike without paying attention to traffic lights and traffic.
