It has been a long, long time since I have participated in 
I've been in Washington on business, and we finished early today. Very early. Early enough that we could still have managed to put in a few hours of work; instead, we decided that we wanted to take a break and go visit Snoqualmie Falls, which is a few minutes drive from the AirBNB we had rented for the week.
It was definitely a waterfall and definitely worth the visit. There is a hiking path around the park which, it turns out, is on a mountain side. Going down was easy. Going back up required a little more effort, but it was really worth it.
Throughout the walk my smartwatch kept dinging that I had met my step quota for the day. No kidding! I was half expecting it to begin dinging that I should, perhaps, take a break.
Snoqualmie Falls is also a hydroelectric plant, originally built in 1899. 1899! Turbines in 1899! The mind boggles. Part way down the mountain side we saw these huge pipes that performed some function or another, most likely to do with hydroelectrics.
Being closer to the bottom also gave us a different view of the falls, which were just as beautiful here as elsewhere.
Lookit this. How beautiful is this.
When we finally made it back to the top of the mountain, which at this point seemed like Mount Everest, we decided it was dinner time. We found this fun little bar with tasty beer and great decorations.
If you ever find your way near Seattle, go check out Snoqualmie Falls. Definitely worth the trip!
