Today I will tell you about a wonderful mountain hike in a very beautiful place in the Stara Planina Mountains - Kozya Stena reserve.
My friends and I planned this hike with great desire. I had been to this place 6 years ago, but then our final destination was different. Now we had a new idea and we knew we would achieve it.
Our starting point was Beklemeto where we left the car.
The transition began with a flat section.
We soon emerged onto trails filled with ripe blueberries and beautiful views.
We saw very tall thistles that were very beautiful.
Along the way we encountered herds of cows and many horses.
There are two routes to reach the Kozya Stena hut - one is "summer route" and the other is "winter route".
We wanted to go through the section with a metal rope and were quite surprised when we realized while walking that the section was above us and we had taken the wrong path. So we decided to climb up to the wall.
The view from up there is truly breathtaking, so we decided to leave our backpacks and return along a rocky route to walk it from its very beginning.
The section is about 400 meters long and the crossing is pleasant, but must be done very carefully.
We continue forward and the beautiful views become more and more numerous and we begin to see meadows covered with beautiful crocuses.
We passed a large monument to Petko Dachev and soon reached the hut.
We took a break at the Kozya Stena hut, trying fig leaf juice and their famous sponge cake, which turned out to be very delicious.
Next was a hike to Echo Hut, which I will tell you about soon.
