A change from the regular sunsets that I normally post.
We have been getting some crazy cloud configurations here these last days, and the thought came to me to go out early in order to get the sunrise. I was up at 4am in any case as leg cramps troubled me the whole night. Then I also get unexplained sudden sharp body jerks, and imagine waking up like that? But enough about me. If you think that this sunrise is nice, then you have to wait to see what the sunset looked like. I will post it sometime.
Thick layers of cloud rested upon the mountain peaks, but things were still a bit dark as you will see a bit later on things became a bit clearer due to the sun rising slowly. I travelled to a park not far from our home to take the photos, and as soon as the sun started to clear the mountain tops, I packed up and left as the bright sun can damage my camera lens.

Like I said, things were still a bit dark.
Here below was a bit of a lighter shot, and you can see the cloud rims slowly being coloured by the rising sun behind the mountains.
There were plenty clouds, and as the wind chased them along, some of the clouds crossed the face of the sun, and that is the explanation for the light and dark shots (4 shots).
To the left of the tree, you can see the sun starting to breach the mountain rim, and it was time for me to go. This last shot was my favorite, but I didn't want to use it as my tag picture as that would have given the game away.
We are seeing some weird cloud formations lately, and in the 8 years that we live here now I have not seen these kinds of clouds before. A fierce cold wind was blowing, leaving me with sneezes and a runny nose, but I didn't mind as long as I could get the shots. This time of the year, in this area, even though it is Spring season now, we got used to the cold and rainy weather in early Spring, but it looks like a new normal has appeared, where the weather is unpredictable and we are still sitting with no rain.
No rain is indeed a worry, as we had minimal rainfall during our winter rainfall season, and the dam levels are low. But in other areas of the country, wild rainstorms are creating much damage. I heard on the news today, that one of the provinces was preparing to host a spring fest, but a storm shattered their big tent structure, and it also damaged other structures. Apparently, they only have eight days to try and repair everything.
Such is life.
