The dwarf was covered in armor, ready for battle. In only a few hours he and his kinsmen would be cascading out of the tunnels they had dug into a mountain overlooking the Orc camp. He strode from his camp towards the muck pens to get his steed. As he rounded the last corner the waft of manure and stye hit his nose. He smiled and deeply inhaled the familiar aroma.
This was a dwarf trained in the way of cavalry. He was trained to ride the mighty warpigs of the Llenshar plains, a giant breed of sow that could carry two fully armored dwarves. Most often though, the warpigs were rode by a single dwarf to increase the speed and momentum of attacks. Once in battle, the dwarves would often dismount and let their pigs run amock amongst the battlefield, causing chaos as well as deaths.

The elves hated it. Of course, the elves hated it, on their prissy ponies all shod in chainmail. Their horses could do little on the battlefield but harry the troops' flanks. The dwarf chuckled to himself thinking of the last battle. His pig tried to run underneath the legs of an ogre, and the dwarf's axe got wedged in its leg, causing him to tumble. It caused the orgre to collapse ontop of him as well and he was surely going to be smothered to death if it were not for his trusty sow. She rammed the dying ogre repeatedly, causing it to thrash in pain and roll off the dwarf. Once free, the dwarf grabbed his pigs tusk and pulled himself out of the mud, laughing the whole time.
The dwarf entered the muck pen and walked to his pig's stall and opened it.
"Ello there girl, How's me little Snot doing today? Are ye ready to do battle?"
Happy grunts answered the dwarfs call and he smiled up at the small eyes of the pig, nearly five feet tall, a good head above the dwarf.
Obligatory blatant tolkein ripoff disclamer. Sorry, but if you make Billy Connoly a dwarf riding a warpig in a movie, that sh-t is going in my book!
