Whenever I get the chance to talk about music, the first artist that comes to mind is the 32 years old, Jon Bellion. Jon Bellion has won a spot in my heart as the songs he records are just out of this world. His songs are very relatable and he definitely doesn't follow the regular prototype of music. When you hear a Jon Bellion piece, you sense originality and difference. He is my artist of the week and I'd be sharing with you three of his exceptional pieces.
The first song is titled: Stupid Deep
This song always gets me. From the instrumentals to the wordings, everything rhymes perfectly. This song answers a lot of questions. Many people doubt everything about their existence. The song begins with the line "what if who I hoped to be was always me?" .
It's not a hidden fact that humans are always vying for one thing or the other. Most times, we never sit back to analyse our very existence. I bet after listening to this particular piece, you'd want to rethink and make constructive criticism about your existence.
The second piece is: The Internet
The wording of this particular song touches my heart each time. It's not too sad and not too frenetic, just the right tempo to convey the message. It starts with the line "life became dangerous, the day we all became famous, no one cares if you're happy, just as long as you claim it". Where's the lie in that?
The world is moving at a very fast pace and no one really 'has time' to care about other people. A person could be going through serious trauma or depression and he still manages to put up a smile. You ask such a person how things are going and they respond 'fine'. Nobody really cares and that's not good. We're supposed to look after each other to the best of our ability.
The third song is (drum rolls please….): Dead Man Walking
I fell in love with this piece because there was so much amusement and transparency in it. Jon sat with his friends and they came up with a crazy idea. He recorded the piece and it came out really amazing.
In summary, it's a crazy story of how he got tangled up in the sheets with his sister's best friend. He is so fond of his sister and from his songs, you would see that. I like his little giggles from time to time.
Jon Bellion has a very fun personality and he sings about life in general. His music videos are down to earth and very understandable. Personally, I think he is one of the most underrated artists but he's slowly and steadily making waves. He has a song for every mood and you should really check him out.
If you're up for a fun musical ride, Jon Bellion is the one for you. Listen to some of his clips and thank me later.
