It is with so much grief that I write this post. Days were going well till this incident happened. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh. In the end, I mixed the two emotions…bitter-sweet.
Few days ago, I had friends over at my house. We were just chatting about things that we share mutual views on and it got to movies.
It turns out that many guys that I know didn't want to watch the popular K-drama series: alchemy of souls, but this guy just got more interesting as he mentioned that he was seeing the movie too.
I had the last episode of the series and he wanted it. We turned on our Xender apps and transferred the movie. Along the line, I discovered that he had many interesting movies on his PC that he walked around with and so I asked him to transfer movies for me. I was already dreaming of how I'd engulf myself in movies.
He stood up, walked towards the socket in our parlour where his PC was being powered and turned on his PC.
It was time to transfer the movies but my phone didn't want to unlock. My heart started pounding irregularly💔. Before this day, I had seen a post about a similar occurrence. She said that she had to wipe out all the information from her phone before it turned back on. But she didn't mention the brand of phone she was using so in my mind I was like, 'my Tecno can't do that to me na'
But it appeared like my Tecno did that to me already. My first time using their product and this?. I tried my password many times and the phone wouldn't burge. By this time, the phone had already disabled fingerprint as I had tried it too many times already.
I had to spell out my long and embarrassing password for my friends to help me insert but still the phone didn't open. Back to my mind again, I was like, "maybe the phone is acting all shy in front of my friends. When they go, I'd try it again" .
My first hurt was the fact that I didn't get all the juicy movies I wanted to get. My friends eventually left and I tried unlocking my phone again but to no avail. The part where I messed up was when I rebooted the phone. Now I was stuck with 'password' as the only unlock option….dead
I didn't know whether to start crying or start lamenting. Was my mind playing games with me?. Not in times like this. Very wrong timing, I thought.
Lucky for me, all my important files were backed up with google and at least I remembered my Google account password. I had to 'factory reset' my phone amidst tears.
The second hurt was the fact that I used my own hands with the help of my mom's youtube to do the reseting. At least it was better than having to pay a phone technician to do it.
After all said and done, I had to start downloading all my apps from scratch💔. At this point, a tear almost escaped but I held it back as a strong girl😂. The mobile data I wasted would have been used on more lucrative things.

Most of my pictures and messages were gone but the most important ones were intact and that was a source of happiness- the sweet part.
Like I said, the feeling was bitter-sweet. I decided to see it from a different perspective. I saw it as a way to start over again with less junk on my phone and more space. Good thing my hive keys and whatnot were also backed up because if they weren't, my life would have been deadass over.
Subtly reminder: these mobile devices can decide to act funny at any time so never hesitate or be too reluctant to back up important documents.
