The dating scene has never been fair to men; the majority of us know that and have chosen to accept it, but occasionally, I feel like some women just choose to put their limit a little bit further just to see how much they could get away with.
I was in my friend's room when he received a call earlier today. After the call, he had explained to me that the person on the other end of the phone was someone he had earlier been interested in and wanted to date her as his girlfriend.
According to him, he has been talking to this lady for about five months now, and every time he brought up the conversation of how much he liked her, she always joked about it, telling him that she felt he was playing and never serious. But then eventually she began to feel the same way and told him about it but still refused to get into a committed relationship with him because she felt they would be better off as friends, best friends.
Fast forward to a week ago, during one of their many phone calls, she had told him that she was now seeing someone and would appreciate it if he no longer called as frequently as he used to. And then fast forward to some days later; she had called him to explain about her new boyfriend and how she doesn't feel like he's the one for her too.
All this while, he made sure he respected all of her decisions and kept to himself. After calling him and talking about her new boyfriend, who apparently was now her ex, he noticed she started calling a lot more frequently again, trying to sneak back into his life.
But unfortunately for her, this friend of mine had already made his tent in the friendzone area and was comfortable there, so he had no plans to leave. Fast forward to today, and it turned out it was her birthday, and she was somehow expecting some form of grand gesture from my friend.
For some reason, she felt she was entitled to some gift or whatever after not only breaking his heart but also telling him not to call her anymore because of another guy. Hearing the whole thing left me surprised and wondering where these people get the audacity to do these things.
