Hello everyone, this is my entry to the #Diyhub contest with the prompt:Glowers. It's a pleasure to participate in this contest and I hope it is fun.

Recently, I've been discovering new ways to utilise the wools(yarns) I have at home and this contest just helped me to try out something new.

When I saw the prompt for the contest, the first thing that came to my mind was,"what would a yarn flower look like?" Well, I found out eventually.

For this project, I used the spare yarn I had at home but if you want to make more flowers, you could get a ball of yarn. The process is very easy and would be a beautiful way to decorate your home. I used my flower on the back of my phone and it looks beautiful there.

I made sure to capture every step I made while creating this beautiful flower on camera. All the pictures are mine.

To make this flower, you will need: a pair of scissors, a yarn(wool), a needle (plastic is most preferred) and your index finger(very necessary😅). If you don't want to use your index finger, you can substitute it with something that looks just like an index finger.

Without further ado, let me go take you through the steps.

Step one

You whirl the wool round your index finger in a circular motion. I did thirty whirls. After whirling, you put the edge of the yarn in a needle and pull through at the bottom and at the top.

You can make as many puffs as you want to make but I made six cute puffs. Here they are.

Step Two

After making the puffs, I put the yarn in a needle again and pulled the needle through all the puffs just like this...

Step Three

I tightened the yarn to ensure that all the puffs were close enough. In the same light, I put a pearl with the help of the remaining yarn through the needle and worked it out through the center of the flower..

And with that, I was done making my beautiful flower. Make sure to tie all loose ends and cut off all excess yarn.

I really had fun making this flower. At first, I wasn't sure if it would come out well, but it actually came out pretty well. What do you think about the flower?

With love, wongi ✨
