I was looking at my 1883 Carson City Silver dollar and I noticed some minting errors on the reverse of the coin. If you look in the area of the left eagle's feathers, you can see a die scratch in the wing. There's is a horizontal die gouge in front of the eagle's beak, plus the "CC" mint mark is doubled. When you look up the variations this is categorized as a rare VAM-5A die variation. The 1883 CC Morgan silver dollar is one of the easier Carson City silver dollars to obtain, but this die variation makes it worth a little more. Most sellers don't look for errors on their coins when they sell them, so anytime you get lucky enough to pick one up it's always a plus. Always check your pocket change, you never know when you have that rare error right in your pocket.
