Hi Hivers, long time no see.
It’s actually been a really, really, really, really and I can’t stress this enough REALLY, stressful week to the point that I barely have enough time for my self, my blog or my entertainment.
UI/Ux designing takes so much work, time and focus from me but I can’t complain because I chose this life without a gun to my head. I’m beginning to question this said choice but let me not digress.
Of late, my life has come down to one thing - ”I must finish this design before the day runs out”.
To be honest I don’t know if this is a bad mind set or a good one because I like perfection (of course while also giving room for amendment) and perfection requires time to establish so by the time I conclude my perfect design, I’ll barely have the time to do other activities I enjoy such as blogging or watching movies.
Designing has also gotten the best of me to the point of me having to delete my socials in order to eliminate any distraction whatsoever, it’s a tough decision but it just had to be done. So excuse my absence on Hive as well, it’s been challenging.
I have a job interview due in a few days, a blog to manage, my tech lessons and a birthday to plan in just one month. So help me God.
Well irregardless of the whole strain and pressure, on the bright side I’ve improved significantly in this overall designing game.
I’m so proud of my upgrade and I thought to share my progress, another reason why I’m glad for this beloved platform called Hive.
The second assignment given to us was to remake a web home page.
Well I’ll be honest, this one wasn’t much of a burden. It was basically words, gradients, images, shadows and bare icons.
This work took me about three hours to finalize to my oh so perfect taste. I attempted to add a few difference while trying to remake the original and this is my end result.
Furthermore, I recently delved into the focal point of UI/UX design - Prototyping and user testing.
This is basically bringing the design to life and sharing it to friends to test drive. To me, it’s the easiest part of making an application.
Today in my lesson, we were tasked to design a web page along with five additional pages in order for prototyping to take place.
To make one design is this one thing, now imagine making six! It’s almost as if it gets difficult by each step but again, I can’t complain.
With God’s grace, I managed to finish up the six in a few hours and move on to the next step which was bringing the designs to life.
This step was exciting to do as I could proudly watch my designs work by clicking. Exactly how a proper website should be.
If only the whole process was as effortless as that but as the universe may have it, nothing comes easy in life.
my complete work ready for prototyping.
Sadly, I can’t post my prototype here but nonetheless, this is the end result.
In essence, I love designing but I don’t exactly love the stress that comes with it.
Either way, that’ll be all for now as I have another design to complete before the day runs out, hopefully I don’t shut down before my computer does.
Thanks for reading and as usual I’d appreciate your comments on rating my work!
