What's good Hive! So last nights bottle of wine kicked some serious ass. This 2012 Syrah from Anthill Farms is the reason why I drink wine. Not just for the buzz, but for the experience. Coming in at 13%, and shared with the wife, if I was drinking for the buzz, I would be better off getting beer. Now, no offense to beer, but it just does not provide the sensory exploration as wine.
Just a spot on expression of Syrah. Deep black fruits, and black pepper aromas. Along with wildflowers, and a tad bit of oak. Even with 9 years of bottle age, this wine seemed so young still. I would love to see how this wine drinks after 15 years of bottle age. But who has the patience to wait that long, especially when it is already so good, CHEERS!
