Why have your coin on one coin when it can interact with many? I see a world in the not too distant future where coins work on multiple chains and you can easily swap one coin on one chain for another coin on another chain in seconds. In fact I think we can then even trade it for fiat but it is still too early for that. But we are close and I welcome this new future as there is too much fighting the cryptocurrency world and being united could help drive the industry
More Value For Us All
Why are we arguing with each other when dapps are still not even mainstream yet. Let's get dapps to millions if not billions of users than we can start to argue what chain is better or what coin is the best. For now there is such a small pool of dapp users that we should all be focusing on raising it as much as we can. This means that dapps on Ethereum are as great as dapps on Hive. With a multi-chain system we can stop fighting and work together to build dapps with synergy and help the market grow.
More Freedom For Users
Some users like Coke and some like Pepsi. With a multi-chain system you can make the choice or use both and still be able to interact with others on the other chain. There are dapps I don't even try cause I don't want to bother getting the wallet for their coin or get coins so I can use the app. Let me log in with what I'm comfortable with an then I can try out the dapp and see if it works.
Multi-chain Is Already Here... Kinda
Wrapped currency is, in theory, multi-chain. I'm taking one of my coins and wrapping it in another coin so I can use it on the site. The problem is there is an extra step that makes the process more of a bridge than a seamless multi-chain. Never the less it is still a way to but one coin on another chain and interact with their dapps.
I see a future where the mutli-chain capabilities are so easy to use that you cannot even tell what network you are on and the dapp just works like any other app that you have used in the past. It might take some time but I think we are close.
