On a beautiful day, I went for a walk in the morning. I love walking, even though the weather has been hot lately. I was comfortable in my Hive T-shirt and cap. After having coffee at a nearby caf茅, I headed to this place that opened last Saturday, September 20, 2025, and which they named Cuidad Mural.
En un d铆a radiante, me fui de paseo en horas de la ma帽ana, me encanta dar caminatas, aunque el clima esta fuerte estos dias con altas temperaturas, me fui c贸moda con mi franela y gorra de Hive, luego que me tom茅 mi caf茅 en una cercana cafeteria, me dirig铆 a este lugar que inauguraron este pasado s谩bado 20 de septiembre de 2025, y en el cual denominaron Cuidad Mural.
This place called El callej贸n Santa In茅s (Santa In茅s Alley) is the gateway that invites us to explore the oldest part of the city. At the end of the alley, we find the oldest Catholic church in Cuman谩, the Basilica of Santa In茅s. What is fascinating about this alley are the plants full of flowers that hang from the windows and adorn the houses. Many of these residences have placed planters to add beauty and color to the place, and together with the murals, they create a magnificent panorama.
Este lugar llamado El callej贸n Santa In茅s es la entrada que nos insta a conocer la zona m谩s antigua de la ciudad y al finalizar encontraremos el templo cat贸lico m谩s antiguo de Cuman谩, La bas铆lica de Santa In茅s. Lo fascinante de este callej贸n son la plantas repletas de flores que sobresalen de los ventanales y adornan las casas. Muchas de estas residencias han colocado materos para agregarles belleza y vistosidad al lugar y junto a los murales hacen un panarama magn铆fico.
Some murals were already painted on some walls, such as the Basilica of Santa In茅s, the Butterfly, and many flowers. This Saturday, and for six days, this initiative took place, combining art, identity, and community participation in every stroke, where all the mural creations pay tribute to emblematic figures and characters from Sucre culture, such as Mar铆a Rodr铆guez, Cruz Salmeron Acosta, Gualberto Ibarreto, and Luis Mariano Rivera.
Algunos murales ya estaban plazmados en algunas paredes, como la basilica Santa In茅s, la Mariposa y muchas flores. Este s谩bado y durante 6 dias, se realiz贸 esta iniciativa que une arte, identidad y participaci贸n comunitaria en cada trazo, donde todas las creaciones de los murales rinden homenaje a figuras Y personajes emblem谩ticas de la cultura sucrenses como Mar铆a Rodr铆guez, Cruz Salmeron Acosta, Gualberto Ibarreto y Luis Mariano Rivera.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to depicting these iconic characters of the city, they also colored figures of fish, birds, turtles, cacao, virgins, and indigenous children, which define the culture, identity, and sense of belonging in this mural city.
Cabe mencionar, que adem谩s de plazmar a estos personajes ic贸nicos de la cuidad, tambi茅n colorearon figuras de pescados, Aves, tortugas, Culebras, cacao, virgenes y ni帽os indig茅nas, que definen la cultura, la identidad y el sentido de perteneciase en esta cuidad mural.
These masterpieces were created by international and local artists from our city and other cities in the country, who did this excellent work in the open air. In addition, at the entrance and halfway down the alley, there is a poem that represents us, recited by Juan Pinto in 1824.
Estas obras maestras fueron creados por artistas, internacionales, y locales de nuestra cuidad y otras cuidades de el pais, y las cuales hiceron este excelente trabajo a cielo abierto. Adem谩s en la entrada y a mitad de camino del callej贸n esta un escrito, la cual es un poema que nos representan y fue declamado por Juan Pinto en 1824.
All the murals bear the signature of the artist who designed them. In one of the galleries is the poet Cruz Maria Salmer贸n Acosta, who accompanies his poem Azul (Blue) with the sea, fishermen, and birds, elements that identify him as a native of the Manicure coast.
Todos los murales tienen su firma de el artista que los dise帽o.En una de las galerias se encuantra el poeta Cruz Maria Salmer贸n Acosta, que acompa帽a su poema escrito Azul, y tambi茅n el mar, los pescadores y aves, las cuales son elementos que lo identifican, por pertenecer a la costa de Manicure.
I loved this step today and seeing that my city has spaces where our identity and culture are highlighted in beautiful murals that represent our coastal land.
Me encant贸 este paso de hoy y ver que mi ciudad cuenta con espacios donde se destaca nuestra identidad y cultura en hermosos murales que representan nuestra tierra costera.
