I don't really know what to write in these #actifit reports?? I do enjoy sharing my daily activities and the support received from the fitness community, keeping me motivated, and if you get your kicks from an overweight, middle aged man sweating, then you've come to the right place....
So what you see here, in my reports, is usually a summary of the previous day. So this post covers Wednesday, even though I'm posti g it up on a Thursday!! Crazy, I know.
Ive set myself a personal challenge of completing a 5km run everyday for 30 days - my 5 for 30 challenge (#5430), and if you're still reading this far in to my blog then I'll let you know how it's been going.
There no hiding the fact that I'm a gentleman of, shall we day, "larger" stature. Carrying the bulk of my excess body weight in a very respectable tyre around my midriff. Basically I have what is called a beer-belly, but I'm working on shifting it before my next birthday. Call it a midlife crisis, call it the last throw of the dice, call it what you will, but its going to happen and I'm going to use actifit to help me achieve it.
My job is very stressful and during these difficult and very demanding times, getting out and forgetting about work for 30 minutes on my lunch break is definitely a requirement. So I run the same route through the week and can pace myself pretty accurately to make sure I'm back at my microscope ready to work in the afternoon.
Running the same 3.3mile (5km+) path has become my escape from the worries and headstress of the workplace, and over time I've noticed a great reduction, not only in my times, but in my heart rate. I'm confident that if I keep this up then I'll be well on my way by the time my birthday comes around.
