This market is a food lover's paradise with lots of options to choose from. But, what caught our attention was the Flower Miang Kham omakase, a combination of traditional Thai snack with flowers and Japanese serving style.
Hey there Hive foodies, Mo here with a story about my recent weekend trip to Bapao Market here in Chiang Mai with my bf, Kevin. This place is like heaven for food lovers like me as well as a nature lover. Well, who doesn't love a good market with lots of food options with all these greens surrounded! If you're a first timer, this set up will blow your mind. For me it's been a few times but it's still so freakin' cool!
Lots of food but one of my all-time favorite snacks here is Miang Kham. It's a traditional Thai snack that's sweet, sour, salty, and spicy, all in one bite. It's like a party in your mouth! And the best part is, you get to wrap it in leaves and eat it like a little present. This one is even more special..
It's not just a regular Miang Kham, it's even better - Flower Miang Kham omakase. Now, I know what you're thinking, "What the heck is omakase?" Well, it's a Japanese term that means "I'll leave it up to you." So basically, you're trusting the chef to serve you their best dishes, keep it surprising and exciting.
The Flower Miang Kham omakase was like an explosion of flavors in my mouth. The combination of the flowers, the great snack, and the unique serving style was just amazing. I couldn't get enough of it. And the best part? It's a healthy snack (as long as you don't add too much palm sugar #lol). So, you can indulge guilt-free. Not to mention, it's just 10THB ($0.30) so it's even easier to sit there and keep ordering on and on.
I like my food spicy, so I added extra red onions and chili to my bites. It made it even more flavorful and added an extra kick to the already fantastic taste.
Overall, Kevin and I had a blast at Bapao Market as always, and we will definitely be back for more Flower Miang Kham omakase and all other food.
