Can't believe I just found out about this place!
In Bangkok, Thailand ones of my most favorite places to chill out are places along side Chao Phraya river, Thailand's major river that flows flows through Bangkok and then into the Gulf of Thailand. Bangkok old city was also here so it's quite pretty with all the old buildings, temples and ruins.
Bangkok's old city
This turned to a tourist fav. As mentioned, lots of old buildings, temples and ruins. Nowadays, even with loads tons of pubs, bars, hostels and all things tourists would ask for.
I personally love the area for its good food and the river view. Many cafes and restaurants along side the Chaophraya River. I have my few favorites and that's because it's convenient to get too. Just a few minutes walk from the pier where I got off the boat. Anyways, just last time I visited, instead of stopping by my favorite cafe called 'N10 cafe', I decided to go a little further.
Theatre Riverside
From Wanglang pier, I walked toward Rakang temple, another one of tourist attractions that I have never been to. Honestly, just because I'm not a temple person. This time, a little different story, I walked toward it to see this new place I just discovered online, the Theatre Riverside! Totally one of the finest chilling spot along the Chaophraya in that area. They got a spacious balcony just right by the river and by that, I really mean it. You could almost reach your hand to touch the water.
We can chill at a long table along the wall to be as close to the water as we'd like. We can sit and lay back at a soft sofa or sit inside with a proper table for eating. Many types to choose from.
Food and drinks
They got both Thai and western food but unfortunately, I filled my tummy before I got there. Really like the place 'Hungry Tiger' that I went beforehand as well. Good meaty kinda dishes! As for Theatre Riverside, because of its location, the food and drink prices are a little bit higher than usual but I wouldn't call it pricey due to the reasons explained above.
I got there early afternoon so I ordered an Americano from their cafe. The place got 2 separated area: cafe and restaurant. I always got turned off by finding out they only have a type of coffee bean offered, you guessed it, medium roast. This big of a place should have at least a few or something.
After the cup of coffee, it's already late afternoon so I thought it was time! A bottle of Singha beer it was. Brought up such great vibes. Cold beer and a river breeze, not much can beat.
