Hi everyone!
I was looking for a community to write about a specific thing, and then I came across this community. I think it is the perfect place to express what is on my mind. So, yes, I am opening up my mind here.
I like to cook. I am not a professional; rather, I am an amateur home cook. But unlike a trained cook, I do not follow the recipe exactly; as necessity is the mother of invention, I may not always have all the ingredients to follow a recipe properly. I take the help of my imagination to create something that is edible.
Well, I am a food lover. Anything that does not make you vomit is food for me. So, I take all the freedom to try some weird things!
This is one of those weirdos! It can be an egg-omlette, it can also be egg pizza, or you can even call it pan pizza. How does it taste? Well, it did not want to jump out of my stomach after eating it. That means it is food aand quite tasty one. |

This is a chicken curry I made from boneless chicken breast.
This image contains the ingrediants.
I already had breakfast that day, yet I bought paratha to eat with this curry. It was amazing in taste!
| At the evening, I turned the rest of the chicken curry into a sandwich patty. I made a mayonnaise-based sauce to have with the sandwiches |

You may wonder, where is the complain and about whom? Well, the sauce is the source of that.
I have a friend who is the exact followers of the recipes. Once he was describing me what kind of meat is the best for the ramen. Which I did not even bother to look up while cooking.
So, listening the ingrediants, his respone was, 'Have you followed the recipe? Do the original recipe have these in it?'
I told him that I do not know, I just put together all the things I thought would make it taste good and it tasted good at least to me.
He told me mixing everything does not make something, for that I need to follow the proper recipe.
I am kind of slow in finding words which to say at times. It was one of those times. I became sad and could not give a suitable reply.
I thought of giving up cooking. But as it is not my job but the passion of cooking food is what give me hapiness, I did not. I even prepared a red-sauce pasta on another day and it tastes better than a pasta I had at a restaurant!
With another friend, I was talking about this experience. He asked me, "Do you know the difference between Chef and Cook?"
I came with a made up answer. But he told me, Cooks follow the recipe and Chefs made them. It lessened my sadness, yet was not convinced. But it seemed logical to me.
Guess what I found on the internet!
A chef is an individual who is trained to understand flavors, cooking techniques, create recipes from scratch with fresh ingredients, and have a high level of responsibility within a kitchen. A cook is an individual who follows established recipes to prepare food. - CULINARY LAB COOKING SCHOOL
Well, now I am a happy soul.
Thanks for your time reading it.
