Change is happening, the old ways are being left behind, we are moving forward, and yet, we must not forget that we live on the Earth and it takes care of us.

"There was once a time when our living was different, when we were not ruled by so much law.
What laws there were came about as guidance, a way to live amongst each other. They were simple laws that all knew and could follow and for the most part, people did; there were no unjust laws, no trickery.
The elders were wise from their living and could be approached in time of need and they did not rob us blind, but lived among us and were part of us.
There was a place for everyone with acceptance.
Whatever someone was good at was what they did and they were recognised for that.
Hunters would hunt and we benefited from their skill. Warriors were our strength and we felt safe with them. Women were protected and the old were not cast out but had a place by the fire.
Shamans took care of our spirit needs and they lived on the edge as was right, to preserve their mystery.

When food was plentiful we all ate well and when times were hard, we survived.
Our history is in the stories for all to know and they are told around the fires when there is time to listen at the day's end, to preserve our past and for us all to know where we came from and how we got here," said the story so far.
"Oh how far we have come to here," I sighed.
"What do we really know of how it was before that great darkness of ignorance poured over the land and gobbled us all up? How many of us died in that with the war face worn fighting a tide that never ended, that washed over us without mercy and was so huge it even wiped out the buffalo that filled the plains further than the eye could see.
This tide of darkness brought with it a fear that is still here now; it stalks our dreams and haunts our stories; it makes boundaries where no boundaries should be; it is a controlling force that would rule us for its own benefit, and so cannot be trusted.
What story could be told that would give hope, if hope is what is needed?
Once, we were free, in a world that was vast. We were close to the Great Spirit in our innocence; and we took comfort in our customs and our homes and our families.
When our hearts were troubled we danced and chanted or went away for a time to ask the Great Spirit for guidance, for a sign; and in our fasting and meditation and silence, if we were sincere enough, we would be heard; and then would come the courage, or not, to act on our vision, and in that, to fulfil it.
So what has changed, you may ask, we still do these things, mostly.
In the great circle of life, in the dreaming, those who live close to the centre are being called.

Some may wonder why and maybe feel confused; visions may be strong. Some may feel discontent from all they've known. Pain may come.
A big change is happening; the winds are blowing the fear back to where it came from.
Some may feel to be blown in this wind; let go of all disquiet; only those who have let go will survive this whole.
There is no going back. Do not fight any more what cannot be won.
Only those who are meant to hear this will hear it and so it will be a stepping stone for them; and to the others who do not hear, it will be just one more blade of grass on the vast prairie.
Some of you are alone and may be feeling separation; others may be feeling too much and not know how to deal with all that's coming at you.
Hold on. The Earth is turning as fast as she can.
You will know what to do when the time comes," said the story up to here.
"Thanks for the heads up," I said.
