Hello friends! I hope you're all well.
Surfing has always been one of my favorite subjects in photography.
Challenging in many ways as we have to deal with movement, reflections of light on water, wind, sand, and generally a multitude of photographers.
Unlike most who prefer to keep their tripod in the same place for the entire session, I enjoy working with the camera in hand and moving around the beach to capture different athletes and scenarios.
In photography, our basic subject is light, so I always try to take pictures early in the morning or late in the afternoon, to make the most of the qualities of light.
Due to the orientation of the beaches, the sun rises over the sea which allows me to capture reflections and silhouettes in the morning, and in the afternoon I can have brighter images of the athletes as the light hits them head-on.
Today's photos were taken on several beaches on the island of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil.
The equipment used is my Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 70-300mm lens and in some cases a Nikon 18-105mm lens.

Olá amigos! Espero que estejam todos bem.
O surf sempre foi um dos meus sujeitos preferidos na fotografia.
Desafiador em muitos sentidos já que temos que lidar com movimento, reflexos da luz na água, vento, areia, e geralmente uma multidão de fotógrafos.
Diferente da maioria que prefere ficar com seu tripé no mesmo lugar durante toda a sessão, eu gosto de trabalhar com a câmera na mão e me deslocar pela praia para capturar diferentes atletas e cenários.
Na fotografia, nossa matéria básica é a luz, por isso tento sempre fazer as fotos cedo pela manhã ou no fim da tarde, para aproveitar ao máximo as qualidades da luz.
Pela orientação das praias, o sol nasce no mar o que me permite capturar reflexos e silhuetas pela manhã, e pela tarde posso ter imagens mais iluminadas dos atletas já que a luz bate neles de frente.
As fotos de hoje foram feitas em diversas praias da ilha de Santa Catarina, no sul do Brasil.
O equipamento usado é minha Nikon D7000 e uma lente Nikon 70-300mm e em alguns casos uma lente Nikon 18-105 mm.
