Continuando mi recorrido por Puerto la Cruz, hice una parada en la playa cercana al paseo marítimo conocida como "Playa La Cruz y el Mar". Este nombre proviene de un monumento en forma de cruz situado a la entrada del paseo, el cual da nombre tanto a la ciudad como a esta hermosa playa. El paseo es una amplia vía peatonal de hormigón que cuenta con diversas zonas: un parque de calistenia, un área de mercado artesanal, paneles informativos sobre playas accesibles y un gran muro de hormigón y piedra. Más allá de este muro se extiende la playa, que cuenta con un columpio en forma de corazón ideal para que los visitantes se tomen fotos preciosas, así como con varias palmeras cocoteras que aportan un aire tropical al entorno.
Tras pasar el muro de piedra, se abre una amplia franja de arena a lo largo de la costa. Me encanta esta playa por sus hermosas aguas azules, la abundancia de palmeras y los bancos de madera que bordean el camino. Desde esta zona también se puede ver la avenida que separa el paseo marítimo de los establecimientos comerciales, hoteles y restaurantes que operan en esta parte de la ciudad. Una vista parcial del paseo permite apreciar sus distintos elementos: el pavimento de granito y los paneles que promocionan las playas del Parque Nacional Mochima, accesibles a través de un muelle situado justo allí. Las vistas de las palmeras son mis favoritas; durante mi visita, el cielo estaba despejado con hermosas nubes y la temperatura era perfecta para pasear por la orilla.
Continuing my tour of Puerto la Cruz, I stopped at the beach near the promenade known as "Playa La Cruz y el Mar" (The Beach of the Cross and the Sea). This name comes from a cross-shaped monument at the promenade's entrance—which gives the city and this beautiful beach their names. The promenade is a wide concrete walkway featuring several sections: a calisthenics park, an artisan market area, billboards showcasing accessible beaches, and a large concrete-and-rock wall. Beyond this wall lies the beach, which features a heart-shaped swing perfect for visitors to take lovely photos, as well as several coconut palms that lend a tropical vibe to the setting.
Past the rock wall, a wide stretch of sand opens up along the waterfront. I love this beach for its beautiful blue water, abundant palm trees, and the wooden benches lining the path. From this area, you can also see the avenue separating the promenade from the commercial establishments, hotels, and restaurants operating in this part of the city. A partial view of the promenade reveals its various features: the granite flooring and billboards advertising beaches within Mochima National Park—beaches accessible via a pier located right there. The views of the palm trees are my favorite; during my visit, the sky was clear with beautiful clouds, and the temperature was perfect for a walk along the shoreline.

After taking several photographs and admiring the beautiful scenery, I sat beneath a palm tree to gaze out at the expanse of the beach and the lovely view it offers; palm trees are visible on one side, while islands belonging to Mochima Park can be seen in the distance. The wind was strong—as evidenced by the swaying palm fronds—and the walkway features a grassy area that is perfect for sitting, enjoying the cool breeze, and taking in the beautiful landscape.
Tras disfrutar de la brisa bajo las palmeras, relajarme y dar un breve paseo, me dirigí hacia la zona del muelle. Allí hay varias embarcaciones atracadas que ofrecen viajes a las islas mencionadas o excursiones por la costa; la arena en esta zona es suave y perfecta para caminar descalzo.

After enjoying the breeze beneath the palm trees, relaxing, and taking a short walk, I headed toward the pier area. Several boats are docked there, offering trips to the aforementioned islands or coastal excursions; the sand in this area is soft and perfect for walking barefoot.
As I walked along, I spotted a palm tree that had toppled over. I found this curious—in fact, it was the first time I’d ever seen a palm tree fall to the ground. Perhaps heavy rain or strong winds had uprooted it; it struck me as odd because these plants are known for bending in various directions under high winds yet remaining standing. It must have been an exceptionally strong gust that tore it up by the roots. The wooden benches are perfectly situated near the palms and right by the water's edge, making them an ideal spot to sit, enjoy the scenery, or share a meal with friends and family by the beach. Towards the end of the path, the pier comes into view, along with numerous palm trees dotting the landscape—including other plant species native to this part of Anzoátegui state.
