Continuing my walk along Aristiguieta Avenue, I observe the banks of the Manzanares River; it is a beautiful spot for those who love outdoor walks and strolls. It has become one of my favorite places to relax and admire the large trees lining the riverbank, and the scenery offered by the Manzanares is truly impressive.
Its calm waters act as a mirror for the green giants standing along the bank. The area also features concrete benches and tables—ideal for resting in the morning breeze. These benches are often occupied by people waiting for transport or by passersby sitting to watch the flow of the Manzanares River as it cuts through the city center, passing behind Guaiquerí Park, under the Mariño Bridge, and alongside the well-known Ayacucho Park. Along its course, the river spans a long stretch of the city center before emptying into the Caribbean Sea at the area known as "La Boca," which is another important and beautiful location for nature lovers.
The concrete tables are typically situated beneath lush trees that provide shade and coolness. From this spot, one can take in the beautiful Manzanares River and a portion of Guaiquerí Park. The trees lining the riverbank feature expansive branches, many of which reach out toward the middle of the river. Further along the path, you will encounter several ceiba (kapok) trees—remarkably lush, with thick trunks and wide-spreading roots—nestled between the riverbank and the concrete walkway. This area of the city offers beautiful, enchanting scenery, perfect for relaxing and for those who enjoy being in touch with nature. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
