My Wednesday walk today will be in a peaceful Bulgarian village of Indzhe Voivoda, located in the Strandzha Mountain.
It is located in Southeast Bulgaria and is 41 km. from my hometown of Burgas.
Whenever we go into the Strandzha Mountains, the main road passes near the village, but until now I had never stopped by and visited it. I was waiting impatiently for this moment to come and here it is.
The name of the village comes from the name of the voivode Indzhe, who was shot in one of the houses.
The village center is very well maintained.
A tall stone column covers the Strandzha anthem "Clear Month" written on a wooden slab. Another stone column covers a fountain with clear water.
Nearby is the Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah.
It was built on the site of an old church and has over 130 years of history.
"The temple houses two unique icons. One is of Saint Anna, about whom locals say that when they put their hand on it they felt warmth. The other is of Saint Christopher. It is the only one in Bulgaria."

The town hall is located near the church.
Across the street was an authentic house with an authentic high fence, which we managed to catch a glimpse of from afar.
The village has many authentic houses declared monuments of architecture. We managed to see some of them.
We reached the monastery "St. George" built in 1878.
Near the center is the old school - a huge building that was in a dilapidated condition.
There is a large football field nearby.
There is a children's playground with swings and slides.
We continued our walk and came to a stone fountain.
We also saw many new and well-maintained houses.
I end the walk with the large stone well that we found in one of the streets of the village.
