Hola querida comunidad 
Las preguntas de esta semana me hicieron pensar en dos cosas muy diferentes: la experiencia de vivir en otro lugar y la manera en que celebramos el paso del tiempo.
Los programas de intercambio son muy conocidos en muchas partes del mundo, especialmente entre estudiantes. Sin embargo, en Cuba no es una práctica tan común como suele verse en películas o series.
Sí hemos tenido estudiantes extranjeros que vienen a estudiar aquí, y en ocasiones algunos terminan desarrollando amistades cercanas con familias cubanas que los ayudan durante su estancia. Pero la idea de pasar un año viviendo con una familia anfitriona como parte de un intercambio cultural no es algo que forme parte de mi realidad cotidiana.
Quizás por eso la pregunta me resultó tan interesante.
Si tuviera la oportunidad de vivir una experiencia así durante un año, elegiría España.
No solamente por el idioma, que facilitaría la adaptación, sino porque siempre me ha parecido un lugar donde conviven historia, tradición y modernidad de una manera muy especial.
Me gustaría recorrer ciudades, conocer museos, caminar por barrios antiguos, descubrir costumbres locales y observar cómo transcurre la vida diaria de las personas más allá de los lugares turísticos.
También me gustaría aprovechar ese tiempo para leer más, escribir más y aprender todo lo posible sobre la cultura del lugar.
Imagino una familia anfitriona sencilla y acogedora, de esas que disfrutan las conversaciones durante la cena y que consideran la mesa un espacio para compartir historias y experiencias.
Creo que lo más valioso de una experiencia así no sería visitar lugares famosos, sino aprender a mirar el mundo desde otra perspectiva durante un tiempo.
Y quizás también descubrir cosas nuevas sobre mí misma.

Sí, me gusta celebrar mi cumpleaños.
No porque me guste ser el centro de atención, sino porque siempre lo he visto como una oportunidad para compartir con las personas que quiero.
Además, me gusta recibir mensajes, llamadas y muestras de cariño de familiares y amigos. Son pequeños gestos que hacen sentir que uno ocupa un lugar importante en la vida de otras personas.
Y precisamente esta pregunta llega en un momento curioso.
Si todo va bien, el próximo 19 de junio cumpliré 26 años.
Será un cumpleaños especial porque será el primero que celebre en mi actual centro de trabajo junto a este nuevo equipo de compañeros.
Y aunque nadie me ha dicho nada directamente, he escuchado algunas conversaciones sueltas y ciertas preguntas sospechosamente discretas que me hacen pensar que podrían estar preparando algo.
No sé si será cierto o no.
Pero debo admitir que la idea me emociona.
Más allá de cualquier regalo o celebración, siempre es bonito sentir que las personas con las que compartimos nuestros días desean que tengamos un momento feliz.
Y creo que esa es una de las mejores cosas que tienen los cumpleaños.
Nos recuerdan que el tiempo pasa, sí.
Pero también nos recuerdan los vínculos que hemos construido en el camino.

This week's questions made me think about two very different things: the experience of living somewhere else and the way we celebrate the passing of time.
Exchange programs are very popular in many parts of the world, especially among students. However, in Cuba this is not something as common as it often appears in movies or television shows.
We have had foreign students come to study here, and sometimes they develop close friendships with Cuban families who help them during their stay. But the idea of spending a year living with a host family as part of a cultural exchange is not something that is part of my everyday reality.
Perhaps that is why I found this question so interesting.
If I had the opportunity to live such an experience for a year, I would choose Spain.
Not only because of the language, which would make adaptation easier, but also because it has always seemed like a place where history, tradition, and modern life coexist in a very special way.
I would love to explore cities, visit museums, walk through historic neighborhoods, discover local customs, and observe daily life beyond the typical tourist attractions.
I would also like to use that time to read more, write more, and learn as much as possible about the culture around me.
I imagine a warm and welcoming host family, the kind that enjoys long conversations around the dinner table and sees meals as an opportunity to share stories and experiences.
I think the most valuable part of such an experience would not be visiting famous places.
It would be learning to see the world from a different perspective for a while.
And perhaps discovering new things about myself as well.

Yes, I do.
Not because I enjoy being the center of attention, but because I see birthdays as an opportunity to spend time with the people I care about.
I also enjoy receiving messages, phone calls, and expressions of affection from friends and family. They are small gestures that remind us that we hold a place in the lives of others.
And this question arrives at a rather interesting moment.
If everything goes as planned, I will turn 26 on June 19.
It will be a special birthday because it will be the first one I celebrate at my current workplace with this new team of colleagues.
Although nobody has told me anything directly, I have overheard a few conversations and noticed some suspiciously discreet questions that make me think they might be planning something.
I do not know if that is really the case.
But I have to admit that the idea makes me happy.
Beyond gifts or celebrations, it is always nice to feel that the people with whom we share our days want us to have a happy moment.
And I think that is one of the best things about birthdays.
They remind us that time passes, yes.
But they also remind us of the connections we have built along the way.
