Hello #ShadowHunters community,
Once again, I’m taking part in this reflections contest, this time in round #288.
Special thanks to @olgavita for hosting and bringing us together once again to look at the world through reflections.
While walking through Matanzas, I came across this reflection of the Chef Bahía restaurant in a puddle of water that had formed from a cistern. At first, what caught my attention was the image itself: the building, the sky, and the surrounding details appearing upside down in the water, creating a reflection that looked almost like another place.
But there was also another thought behind the photograph. Water is a precious resource, and in some parts of the city there are people who have to wait for it or go without it. Seeing it wasted is therefore something that cannot simply be ignored.
And yet, for a brief moment, I forgot about that contradiction and simply looked at the beauty that had appeared before me. The puddle, created by something that should not have happened, had turned into an unexpected mirror.
Perhaps that is one of the strange things about photography: sometimes it does not make a situation better, but it allows us to see something beautiful even in circumstances that are far from ideal.
I declare that the images shared in this post are my own, captured with my mobile phone. Since my native language is Spanish, I used DeepL Translate for the English version.
