There's is a particular quote I haven't been able to settle in perfectly with, it might be true but it doesn't really sound okay to me.
This quote ''experience is the best teacher" doesn't really sound perfect in my ears. Yes, experience may be the best teacher in some cases but not all. For instance, if you had little or no knowledge about a particular field or niche, you won't be able to do well in it. You need to go through the process, learn and unlearn, know what it is like for you to gain mastery in that particular field.
Here's why I somewhat disagree with the notion that experience is the best teacher. Let's just imagine two different human beings, one has learned how to swim while the other doesn't know.

Now, these two entered a river or unintentionally fell inside a large water body perhaps as a result of a shipwreck. Would we say that such incidence is the best moment for the other party that didn't know how to swim to learn? Of course not! The reality is that such individual could drown and eventually die.
My argument is that: every smart person shouldn't wait for an opportunity to experience before learning. A smart person should learn from others.
Also, learn moves, strategies about what you are planning to go into even before you get to do it. Why? Because not all experiences are the best teachers. Some might land you in death, while some might end you in tough critical situations. Some experiences can drain a lot of energy, time and resources from you before you can get to learn.
So what do we do now if experience is not really the best teacher. In my own view, I think that mentorship is very vital. Having an experienced coach that guides you in a new field will save you from a lot of stress.
A mentor is someone that has been in a particular field and as garnered a lot of knowledge and he is doing sound in it. New entrants into a field should learn and unlearn from such person, gather as much wealth of information as they can get from the mentor then you are good to go.
In your business, career, education and what ever you doing there are always people that are doing well. There is so much risk in experience, and I never said you shouldn't get an experience but I have chosen to say, "correct awareness or information is the best teacher.
