Welcome once again to a new post where I'll show you, until I run out of alcohol-based markers, that we can achieve great results without having to be so perfect when marking, because the messiness usually creates a completely complete landscape.
The Green Goblin, whose real name is Norman Osborn, is a Marvel Comics supervillain and the main antagonist of Spider-Man. His weapons and aesthetics are related to Halloween, including elements such as bats, ghosts, and pumpkins. He is the main antagonist in several adaptations, including the first film in the saga.
This character has a very old-fashioned aesthetic because I chose the comic book version and not the movie version, and its design is more adapted to the future, so following the scheme of circles and lines we began the sketch to make a kind of portrait of this character.
In this step we are defining the central image, which is the Green Goblin, and we have to make the lines very thin because since it is graphite, we have to erase them from the design once finished, so that it does not stain.
As you can see here, I've finished the sketch and left the shadows with graphite so I can mark them later with ink or marker, although I recommend erasing so it doesn't affect the marker.
Once the sketch is finished, we erase everything so we can paint and the color doesn't smudge. This time I'm going to use markers.
COLORING
When coloring, I always start with the base color, which I'm used to using as a very light shade, then darken where the shadows of the same color would go, and so on.
Here, I've numbered the different shades because they're numbered and make it easier for me to locate.
This time, we'll start by marking the shadows and adding a lot of detail to the facial expressions because I decided to draw only the face.
First I mark the areas with their respective colors so I know what color each part is.
You have to know how to play with tones that are the same color because there are some lighter areas and others darker. Don't worry about smudging or going over the lines, although try to avoid it as much as possible.
Outlining with a darker green color gives a unique touch unlike black.
And finally, I decided to outline everything so that it can be seen in more detail. Once the design is finished, I have to say that it has a good style and I think it turned out well.
