Este personaje (Pavitr Prabhakar) es una versión de otro universo de Spiderman proveniente de la India y su origen es muy similar al del Peter Parker que todos conocemos ya que es una variante del mismo, pero en un contexto cultural diferente y este recibe sus poderes de un animal espiritual y lucha contra el mal en su ciudad natal.

Sus aventuras se exploran en los cómics y en la película animada Spiderman Across the Spider-Verse donde se destaca por su diseño y habilidades únicas, reflejando así la rica cultura de la India.

Es este estilo el que me llamo mucho la atención, a decir verdad estaba tan acostumbrado a Peter Parker que cuando aparecieron otras arañas con sus diseños tan diferentes y sus estéticas tan particulares, me quedé fascinado con todo esto.

Guiándonos de las características de la imagen de referencia la cual posee una técnica de contornos y espacios negativos con un diseño digital, obviamente voy a tratar de replicar los colores con marcadores y también colores pasteles de una amiga artista, que a veces nos reunimos para practicar.

Armando, el bosquejo de este personaje, me decidí en hacer algo de estilo más como de retrato, para explorar ese lado artístico y darle también un toque de realismo.

Como pueden ver aquí, ya tenemos el cuerpo mas completo con una estructura ya moldeada, en estos proyectos de retratos no es tan importante replicar el arte original, ya que todos poseemos técnicas distintas, lo importante es hacerlo genuino a nuestro ser.

Acá pueden apreciar que ya he terminado el boceto y que dejo las sombras con grafito para poder marcarlas luego con tinta o marcador, aunque recomiendo borrar para que no afecte al marcador.

COLOREANDO

Al momento de colorear siempre empiezo por el color base, el cual estoy acostumbrado a que sea un tono muy claro para luego ir oscureciendo donde podrían ir las sombras del mismo color y así sucesivamente.

Para las zonas oscuras usaré el color vino y dejaré lo blanco del diseño con el color de la hoja y también usaré corrector para marcar las líneas de la araña y pintarlas luego.

Colocando la luz con marcadores de alcohol voy a ubicar los tonos más claros y luego intercalaremos combinando con otros colores para degradarlos.

Ya teniendo los colores base, luego nos toca oscurecer, colocar corrector y sombras para el color de las manos o guantes en este caso.

Ya con todos sus colores en su lugar, vamos a delinear todas las zonas y esta vez con negro ya que si delineamos de un color similar pero mas oscuro se perdería la expresividad del personaje.

Además, esta vez decidí cortarlo estilo sticker y pegarlo en una cartulina color vinotinto y con estrellitas para darle un toque mas de estilo retrato al diseño.

Guided by the characteristics of the reference image, which uses a technique of contours and negative spaces with a digital design, I'm obviously going to try to replicate the colors with markers and pastels from an artist friend, whom we sometimes meet to practice.

For Armando, I decided to do a more portrait-like sketch of this character, to explore that artistic side and also give it a touch of realism.

As you can see here, we already have a more complete body with a molded structure. In these portrait projects, it's not as important to replicate the original art, since we all have different techniques. The important thing is to make it authentic to our being.

Here you can see that I've already finished the sketch and that I've left the shadows with graphite so I can mark them later with ink or marker, although I recommend erasing so that it doesn't affect the marker.

COLORING

When coloring, I always start with the base color, which I'm used to using as a very light shade, then darken where the shadows of the same color might go, and so on.

For the dark areas, I'll use the burgundy color and leave the white of the design with the color of the leaf. I'll also use whiteout to outline the spider's lines and paint them in later.

By placing the light with alcohol markers, I will locate the lighter tones and then we will alternate combining them with other colors to degrade them.

Now that we have the base colors, we have to darken them, apply concealer and shadows for the color of the hands or gloves in this case.

Now that all the colors are in place, we're going to outline all the areas, this time using black, since if we outline with a similar but darker color, the character's expressiveness would be lost.

Also, this time I decided to cut it sticker-style and stick it on burgundy cardstock with little stars to give the design a more portrait-style touch.
