Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un dibujo que hice de un personaje que me gusta mucho.
Últimamente me he aficionado a ver anime, y hace poco vi la primera temporada de Frieren. Se las recomiendo mucho, es un anime precioso. Como me encantó tanto, decidí dibujar a uno de sus personajes.
Se llama Stark y es el guerrero del grupo, pero no quería dibujarlo solo. Esta vez pensé que se vería bien junto a su versión infantil, y creo que fue una buena decisión.
Ahora, veamos el proceso paso a paso.

Today, I want to share a drawing I made of a character I really like.
Lately, I’ve gotten into watching anime, and I recently watched the first season of Frieren. I highly recommend it; it’s a beautiful series. Since I loved it so much, I decided to draw one of the characters.
His name is Stark, and he is the warrior of the group, but I didn't want to draw him alone. I thought he would look good alongside his younger self, and I think it was a good decision.
Now, let's look at the step-by-step process.

- Lo primero que hice fue el lineart, lo cual me tomó bastante tiempo, pero valió la pena.
- The first thing I did was the line art; it took quite a while, but it was worth it.
Una vez que el dibujo de líneas estuvo listo, agregué la capa base para cada personaje en gris.
Sobre esas capas, en modo «máscara de recorte», comencé a colorear cada parte del personaje. Como hay dos, cada uno va en una carpeta diferente para mantener todo más organizado.
- Once the line art was ready, I added a gray base layer for each character.
- On top of those layers—using "clipping mask" mode—I started coloring each part of the character. Since there are two of them, I placed each one in a separate folder to keep everything organized.
Una vez terminada la capa de color, llegó el momento de agregar luces y sombras al dibujo. Empiezo con las sombras: para ello, creo una nueva capa encima de la carpeta, en modo «máscara de recorte», para poder pintar cada personaje por separado. Para las sombras uso el mismo color, pero un poco más oscuro, y relleno las áreas donde creo que hay sombras.
Luego creo una nueva capa y agrego un sombreado ligero sobre todo el cuerpo del personaje, para que los colores no se vean tan planos. Sobre esa capa agrego los reflejos; una vez más sigo mi intuición y los coloco donde quiero que estén.
Para terminar, agrego algunos detalles al cabello y al brazo del personaje.
- After finishing the color layer, it was time to add highlights and shadows. I started with the shadows: I created a new layer above the folder, set to "clipping mask," so I could paint each character separately. For the shadows, I used the same color but a slightly darker shade, filling in the areas where I envisioned shadows falling.
- Then, I created a new layer and added light shading over the character's entire body so the colors wouldn't look too flat. On that same layer, I added highlights; once again, I followed my intuition and placed them where I wanted them to be.
- To finish up, I added some details to the character's hair and arm.
Una vez que terminé de colorear al primer personaje, repetí el mismo proceso con su versión infantil.
Y, por último, coloreé algunas partes del lineart con el mismo tono que el cabello y la piel, simplemente porque se ve un poco mejor así, jeje.
- Once I finished coloring the first character, I repeated the same process for his younger version.
- And finally, I colored some parts of the line art using the same tones as the hair and skin, simply because it looks a bit better that way, hehe.
