—¡He dicho que basta!
—¡Auxilio! —Vociferó con fuerza el pobre Héctor.
—¡La señora Corneole no está! —Gritó Fabio a cantaros.
—Oh no, pasó antes…

-Please, Hector, come to your senses! -Fabio shouted, slapping the boy, but he was staring blankly, his pupils frozen in their sockets. Suddenly, he coughed, turned his head in circles, and squeezed his partner's forearm.
-Oh, Fabio, I saw her again! -Hector shouted in fear.
-Again? Don't give me that nonsense now that Mr. Corneole is coming!
-But, Fabio, I'm telling you the truth! He leaned out of the side of the kitchen door and looked at me with his blood-red eyes. He looked different this time. His hair was no longer white but black as darkness.
-That's enough! -Fabio shouted angrily, -Can't you see it's just tiredness? I know I've demanded too much of you, but that's no reason to make up stories and use them as an excuse.
-But Fabio...
-I said enough! -His shout was louder. I need you with me to prepare dinner. Mrs. Corneole is already waking up.
Hector wanted to say another word, but his lips sealed with a tight squeeze.
-Go to the kitchen and heat the water, -Fabio ordered the boy.
Hector got up still pale with fear, his steps were slow and his legs still trembled as he crossed the kitchen doorway.
-This boy is not going to last here. Fabio whispered to himself.
Already installed in the kitchen, Hector continued with his chores. He bit his nails anxiously, then scratched roughly at the sore on his left thigh. He looked sideways for a surprise. His black hair covered one of his eyes and he immediately pulled it back.
-Shit, I have to cut this hair! -He muttered angrily. His nerves wouldn't let him concentrate. He was thinking every minute about that apparition with whom he had already had a previous encounter.
-Maybe Fabio is right and I'm just stressed out. Hector said to himself as he cut the vegetables for the stew. -Such a creature cannot exist.
The entrance to the mansion suddenly rang, announcing the arrival of a visitor. Fabio hurried to greet him as he arranged the wrinkled parts of his servant's uniform.
-Good morning, Mr. Corneole, -Fabio said as he opened the door.
-Good morning. -The master of the house answered as he entered with a stately attitude. -Is my wife up yet?
-I don't know, sir, I'll go see her in her room. Would you like something to drink?
-No, thank you, I'll wait for her here in the living room. -The man replied as he sat down in one of the elegant armchairs and lit a cigarette.
Meanwhile, Hector in the kitchen was humming a song to calm himself. The ladle gently stirred the food as the ingredients cooked. He kept scratching his nasty sore and then went for a glass of cold water, but stopped in front of the fridge, as he felt something watching him.
His legs suddenly trembled. A tingling ran down his back and he let go of the glass of glass he was holding in his hand. He raised his head and fixed his eyes on the ceiling. He began to breathe heavily as if he was drowning.
Finally, the boy was petrified. He looked to the side with his one functioning pupil and fear gripped him. He saw it again, with its misshapen body, covered by a white robe. The creature bent from side to side as it walked and at the same time groaned. Its lanky left hand rested on the boy's back and began to slide down. Hector wanted to scream, but even his throat would not react.
Under the effect of his numbness, he managed to move his right leg a little. He concentrated more on it. He began to move it even more. As the creature touched him, the boy managed to deliver a kick that left his stalker lying on its side. From that moment on, Hector managed to regain his mobility.
Mr. Corneole heard two screams from the comfort of his couch; one coming from the kitchen and the other from the second level of the mansion.
-Help! -Poor Hector shouted.
-Mrs. Corneole is not here! -Fabio shouted.
-Oh no, it happened before... -muttered Mr. Corneole and hurried to the kitchen.
Fabio rushed down to the living room, not seeing Mr. Corneole, ran to the kitchen and there he found a scene beyond his comprehension.
Mr. Corneole was hugging something that did not look like a human being. Hector was at the other end of the kitchen, with his hand on his chest and his face as pale as milk. Mr. Corneole explained that his wife suffered from a strange disease that deformed her appearance from time to time, turning her into a hideous being. The employees calmed down, but Hector's anxiety did not disappear, and again he went back to scratching the horrible sore.
