Civility is an illusion created by the wealthy to help keep their fortunes intact. It provides for them the seemingly polite means of incarcerating, ostracizing, and eliminating the margins. It convinces the poor that liberty consists of the freedom to choose where to eat, and somehow suppresses our ability to recognize the simplest of biological truths--that our numbers are beyond manageable considering our needs and resources. Something wicked this way comes, but everyone's being too nonchalant to notice.
