'Willy Wagtail.'

This is my entry for the Feathered Friday challenge organised by keithboone@keithboone If you'd like to share your bird images check out the details here:

Willy Wagtails (Rhipidura Leucophrys) are native to Australia, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Eastern Indonesia. They are not easy to capture as they are very active and rarely still.

It’s easy to see where they get their name from when observing the constant sideways movement of their tails. They adapt well to most areas apart from thick forest. Willy Wagtails love insects and prey upon them in open areas wagging their cute little tails horizontally as they do so.

They flit and hop along the ground behind people and animals picking up gnats, flies and moths which have been disturbed. For a small bird, they are surprisingly aggressive and will protect their territory against much larger birds such as Australian Kookaburras.

Their bravery extends to attacking domestic cats and dogs should they feel threatened and if a tiger snake gets too close to their nests, they won't hesitate to harass them too.

I've included a digitally enhanced image to add a little variety to this post.
