I went out on a hot summer walk and saw some scorched birbs for this #featheredfriday
It is hilarious seeing how they open their mouths to pant during the heat.
This song sparrow was being tough but its feathers looked a bit wet. So maybe it took a bath in a thunderstorm puddle.
This poor hawk was screeching loudly. I think some kind of huge horsefly was bothering it. That black dot is one of larger biting flies. This hawk needs a flycatcher bodyguard.
The next day in the morning I went to the lake to avoid the heat. But it was already pretty hot.
I went to visit the goslings that hatched off my neighbor's balcony.
They look fully grown now but still make the gosling cheeps every now and then.
They are still following their parents too.
Quite tame too having grown up on a condo balcony and having been escorted by humans with their parents to the lake.
Now for a bee.
And a tame squirrel wondering why I was following the geese. They start losing tail hair a bit during the summer, maybe for coolness or maybe mites?
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
