Today we had an appointment to get my dog chipped. In the country where I live, it is now compulsory for pets to be chipped. There are still a lot of things that don't please me here, about animal rights. Half of the people living in my country of citizenship are animal lovers and really care about animal rights, but there are just as many people who do not love animals. There are still not enough laws on animal rights. Many people here see animals as objects and don't care about them at all. We constantly have to fight for animal rights. Many courts here are finalized with the pressure of animal lovers.
For example, today I went to the Directorate of Agriculture building to get a chip implanted and we had a big problem with the security at the entrance. He didn't even want to let us into the garden! He said I had to wear a muzzle, but I have never put a muzzle on my dog before. When they insisted on putting a muzzle on my dog, I opposed it and did not let them put it on. My dog would be scared and stressed because he was not used to the muzzle. After a long struggle with the police officer, we went inside with my dog. The officers came to the garden where they inserted the chip. I don't understand why they insistently frightened and stressed the animal even though it had no aggression whatsoever.
Fortunately, it was short and we left immediately. Both me and my dog were incredibly stressed. Unfortunately, there was no chip in the veterinarians because of the intensity, we had to have it done in a directorate close to our house because there was a time limit. After we went out, I immediately bought his favorite smoked turkey and fed it to him. Since he loves smoked turkey so much, his morale improved and we returned home happily.
I love my country incredibly, but sometimes I think about leaving just because of this. I love animals and I can't stand to see them suffer! They act like the world belongs only to us, but they have just as much right to live in good conditions as we do. I am tired of fighting for this... I hope my beautiful country can take a step forward in this regard soon. It has been such a troubled day, I hope it will never happen again...
