Blogging Challenge - Part 02 - Day 20

Explain your profession to a 5 year old

Well, this one is complicated because I don't talk much with 5-year-olds, but here goes:

Hello, what i do for a living is to be interior designer, this is something you study, that is, you read a lot of books and learn about how a space is more beautiful and works better. For example, if you walk in through a door, i have to make sure that when you open it, there is nothing behind it that can bump into it and make a poom, because it gets abused.

I also make sure the furniture is comfortable and will last a long time. I help to choose the plants that are going to be placed, the TV that they are going to want, i choose the colors, the beds and even the glasses and plates that they want to use in the kitchen.

I calculate the money it will cost to fix the whole house or restaurant or anything before changing it, so that the adults know how much they have to work for.

I also look for the best lights for each space, for example, if you're going to read you need a stronger light so your eyes don't get tired, and if you're going to eat in a restaurant, i put in a softer light so it looks more relaxing.

There are times when adults want to change the floors, ceilings and walls, and i help them choose which ones are better... for example, a floor to play on is softer, so that when they fall they don't get so hard.

Finally, i take care of talking to all the workers so that everything goes well.

Blogging Challenge - Part 02 - Day 01

Explica tu profesión a un niño de 5 años

Bueeno, esta si se me complica porque no hablo mucho con niños de 5 años, pero aquí voy:

Holaaa, el diseño de interiores, es algo que uno estudia, o sea, lee muchos libros y aprende; sobre como un espacio es más bonito y funciona mejor. Por ejemplo, si entras caminando por una puerta, yo me tengo que encargar de que cuando la abras, no haya nada detrás que pueda chocar con ella y hacer poom, porque se maltrata.

También me encargo de ver si los muebles son cómodos y van a durar mucho tiempo. Ayudo a elegir las plantitas que se van a colocar, la tele que van a querer, elijo los colores, las camas y hasta los vasos y platos que quieren usar en la cocina.

Calculo el dinero que va a costar arreglar toda la casa antes de cambiarla, para que los adultos sepan cuanto tienen que trabajar para conseguirlo.

También busco las mejores luces para cada espacio, por ejemplo, si vas a leer necesitas una luz mas fuerte para que no se te cansen los ojitos, y si vas a comer en un restaurante, pongo una luz mas suave para que se vea más relajante.

Hay veces que los adultos quieren cambiar los pisos, techos y paredes, y yo los ayudo a elegir cuales son mejores... por ejemplo, un piso para jugar es mas suave, para que cuando se caigan no se den tan duro.

*Por último, me encargo de hablar con todos los trabajadores para que todo salga bien.
