Hi everyone ,so in a nutshell, for me I will just say that on one hand AI has actually helped a lot of people in making their work easier, amd in another hand , I will say that yes, it is reducing our creative side, indeed Technology has made life easier for we humans in so many ways, and AI is one of that things that many of us now use almost every day, be iit writing, designing, editing, researching, or even generating some kinda ideas ,see , AI has found its way into almost everything we do everyday
And for real , I won't even lie here we all use it , there are certain tasks that would have taken me hours to complete before, but now I can actually get them done much faster, that means I have more time to focus on other things, and see honestly, that is one of the biggest advantages of AI, but then, there is another side to it that I have personally experienced.
Let me take myself as an example, before AI became a regular part of my workflow, whenever I finished writing a post, I would design my own cover image using Canva, i actually even paid for Canva Pro because I enjoyed creating my own designs and trying different styles, sometimes it would take me a while to get the design exactly the way I wanted it, but I didn't mind because I was learning something new every time I opened the app, without even realizing it, I was brushing up my creative side.
See me tha was thinking about colours, layouts, fonts, and how to make my images attractive then, and then AI generated images became very common, i now discovered that I could simply just type a prompt and I wil get any beautiful image within seconds.
At first, I thought it was really amazing, and truthfully it still is, but then slowly, I be gan to realise something and that was I just became lazy and Instead of me opening my Canva and creating something from scratch, I would just generate an image with AI, also before I knew it, my Canva subscription expired, and like I had barely done any tangible work on it.
And that was when it really hit me, truly AI had made things easier, but then at the same time, it had reduced the amount of effort I actually was putting into developing that particular creative skill I wanted, and I believe this is happening to alot of people too, like Instead of learning how to draw, some people generate art online , instead of practising how to write, they ask AI to write for them, Instead of brainstorming ideas, they simply ask AI to think for them etc..,
And little by little, we begin to depend on it for almost everything we need , and for me , that is where I think the danger is, it is not AI itself, but in how much we are relying on it.
I don't think AI is bad, gar from it, It has helped students, workers, business owners, creators, and so many other people become more productive, It saves time, It improves efficiency, it makes difficult tasks much easier.
Those are things we cannot ignore.
But I also think we shouldn't allow convenience to completely replace our own creativity.
I believe that there should still be room for us to think, imagine, create, and solve problems our own selves, because at the end of the day, I believe AI should be just a tool that supports our creativity, not something that replaces our creative sides entirely
So yes, I do agree that AI has made life easier to a point, but I also agree that it has reduced our creative side by a lot, but the challenge now is finding the right balance between using AI to make life easier and making sure we do not lose the creative abilities that make us human in the first place.
