The era we are living in now is the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and it has become a big part of our daily lives. It has improved a lot that people now can solve problems without taking another individuals help, they can create images without hiring someone professional, easily get answers to any kind of questions, even make music, so all of these are for free. As you can see AI made our life easier. However, I believe that this ease also comes with a cost. Many people get distracted and they end up depending on AI, they lose the ability to do something creative even slowly lose the habit of thinking for themselves.
Before AI people would solve problems by their own imagination or take help from someone else who would use their thought process to solve it. When I was a student I used to write paragraph & composition from my own knowledge or make up something, but nowadays everyone takes the help of AI to write. I feel this is not a good thing, we should be creative and try to make something new. Even the artists used to paint with their own ideas, but now people generates it. Families used to spend time talking and finding answers together. But now some people have stopped talking and spending time with their family. Instead of sharing personal things with family, they prefer telling AI about it. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but your personal problem is getting public and many people will learn about it. So, if you want to keep it private, I don't think this is the correct way to do it. People also ask AI to do these things for them.
But I think some things should be left for the real life not an AI. They can't understand our feelings, they are just coded in a way to give you a satisfying answer, it's calculated and not real at all. It can cause people to stop practicing important skills such as critical thinking. As a man in my fifties, I think about this often that even though I use technology because it makes life easier, but I also try not to depend on it for everything. I have two wonderful daughters and I always encourage them to draw, solve puzzles so that they can use their own ideas before asking for help. I want them to learn things by their own and enjoy the process of learning, not just getting the answer. I want them to study to learn not to just memorize things. Even if they fail, I want them to learn from their failure and take it as an experience.
I have personally experienced that when I solve a problem by myself, I feel something different in me, as if I have gained some confidence. I feel proud of myself and without any help makes it a honorable moment for me. So, If AI does everything for us, we may miss these valuable lessons. However, I have never thought of AI as a bad thing or if someone uses it then it's bad. I am trying to explain what happens when you completely depend on it because it is a powerful tool that can help you grow or fall. The key is to use it wisely.
