Onions and garlic for babies with a cold

My name is Tobias and I am father of twins (10 month old). On steemit I would like to give you some tips on how to master everyday life with your children.

Your baby or toddler has a cold? The child coughs and has light fever? In many cases a medication is not necessary. Sometimes proven home remedies can help. I have had good experiences with the following recipes:

1. Semolina pudding with garlic

Raw garlic acts like a natural antibiotic. So I put a clove of garlic in the semolina pudding of my twins. They like it - but be carefull: Your children smell after that awful ;-)

The recipe (for two babies)

  1. 500 ml unskimmed milk
  2. 50 ml fresh water
  3. 3 tablespoonfuls full of semolina
  4. 1 clove of garlic

Boil the semolina in the milk. Then add one banana and clove of garlic. Puree it. Isn't it easy?

2. Onion juice for coughing

Cut on onion into small pieces and place in a small mason jar. Always work in thin layers and generously add sugar. After that put the glass on the heater for a few hours. It creates a strong-smelling, sweet onion juice that children love and that has a calming effect on the coughing.

Get well soon, boys and girls!
