Come walk with me as we travel through many paintings 😎

---Start This Journey Here---

The closer I looked, the more insects became visible in the grass. I saw spiders and ants and all kinds of bugs - of which some had a very beautiful appearance. They all went about their business and didn't really seem to be bothered by each other. Sometimes I saw how two ants would do a thorough search of themselves when they came close. It was probably their way of communicating and exchanging information about their world.........

I had dozed off for what must have been a couple of hours when I heard some voices. The heat was still covering me like a blanket, but it had become more bearable. The wind even stirred up some cooler air and blew it haphazardly across the summer fields and over my skin. With the hay poking somewhat uncomfortably at my back, I raised myself a bit and once more tried to get an overview of my surroundings. The hot air from the fields still blurred my vision, but I could make out four figures - two taller ones paired with two smaller ones. Their shape and posture indicated them to be women and children and as I looked closer I could see the round hats that the women were wearing as well as a sun umbrella which one of them was carrying besides herself.

The fields in which they were walking were extraordinarily beautiful: the long and variously colored grass together with the stunning red poppy flowers and the specks of color from other wild flowers came together like the sea when the wind was softly blowing on these earthly manifestations. In it, the four figures - now even more visible - with their own colors could have been mistaken for some plants as well.

They seemed to be mostly quiet, but for the occasional words that carried themselves across this space. They were calm sounds that did not disturb the silence here. It was all a perfect setting waiting to be cast onto a canvas - if I would have only had one. But then again, I did not think of myself to be much of a painter as I had not painted very much throughout my life. But now, it was all very palpable. I could feel the living, breathing essence of life and only a great artist would know how to convey this living state onto a static canvas and still retain some of that original quality.

I watched as the small group wandered off some more into the distance before I walked towards the trees on the opposite horizon. I could see a larger estate there and the trees hinted perhaps at a creek making its way across these beautiful lands.
