There's still some snow on the mountains. Just below the snowy mountain is a village, Başmaklı. The village is over 2000 meters above sea level, and its connection to the city is cut off during the winter. They prepare for winter in the autumn. I honestly don't know how they overcome their health problems. The majestic mountains are Şeyhhabib Mountains and Sini Mountain. Their elevations are over 3000 meters. It's a region quite rich in wildlife. Bears, wolves, and wild goats are abundant.
Dağlarda kar bir nebzede olsa hala duruyor. Karlı dağın hemen altında bir köy var, Başmaklı köyü. Köyün rakımı 2000 metre üstü, kış mevsimi boyunca şehir ile bağlantıları kesiliyor. The most striking aspect of the region is its extensive forest cover. Roads have been built into the mountains using heavy machinery, destroying the forests. The forests were much denser before this destruction. It is said that this was done for security reasons. It is pleasing to see that the felled trees are regrowing as small saplings.

The region is mostly covered with oak trees. Oak trees are very warm and important to the local people. The leaves and branches of the oak tree are dried and given to small livestock during the winter. It is one of the animals' favorite foods.
Bölgede çoğunlukla meşe ağacı bulunuyor. Meşe ağacının ısısı oldukça yüksek. Meşe ağacı bölge halkı için önemli. Meşe ağacının yaprakları , ağacın dalları ile birlikte kurutulup küçük baş hayvanlara kış mevsiminde verilir. Küçükbaş hayvanlar en sevdiği besinlerden biri.
There are dozens of villages in the region. They are not visible from here because they are built on the slopes of the mountains. Houses were built on the hillsides, while agriculture was practiced in the plains. Nowadays, neither agriculture nor animal husbandry is practiced in the villages. The grasses that grow in the mountains dry up and die in the summer months.
Bölgede onlarca köy var. Köyler dağların eteklerine kurulduğu için buradan görünmüyor. Evler eğimli alanlara kurulurken ovalarda tarım yapılmış. Şimdilerde köylerde artık ne tarım yapılıyor ne hayvancılık. Dağlarda yeşeren otlar yaz ayların kuruyup gidiyor.
