Sometimes you get really lucky with the weather when you are exploring Antarctica and get nothing but sunny skies and calm seas, which is amazing to experience. However, it sometimes never works out like that, as we can't control the weather and we get what we get and make the most out of it.
This day was one of those sunny warm days (I say warm for Antarctica but it was about 5 degrees). We were out exploring a Gentoo penguin colony at a place called Port Lockroy, which was an old British base that is now converted into a Post Office, gift shop and museum. Not sure I would survive working there everyday for 3 months straight like the volunteers there do but on days like this I can think of worse offices to work in...
