That is a lot of penguins
HOLY!!! That is a lot of Penguins! St. Andrews is a landing site in South Georgia and if you ever have the possibility to visit this place and explore the shoreline then do not pass it up. It is home to

mum and calf type B orca
Well, orca are my favourite to interact with in the wild. Even if it is a 530am call to my room on the ship from a co-worker in the bridge to say he has contact with a huge pod of Type B orca. Up I get,

With such feisty attitudes and damn right zero s#$ts given by these adorable tuxedo-wearing birds, its hard not to be mesmerized by their waddling and squabbling with one another on their nesting sites

Tiring work for the beach master
They are big and spend most of their lives in the ocean foraging in the deep waters for squid and certain octopus species but when they are on shore for either breeding or molting, they are simply impressive.

Chinstraps don't care
Chinstraps have to be my favourite of the brush tail species that I get to encounter on the Antarctic Peninsula and this is because they just don't give a s#%t! These confident penguins have no problem

a wee baby Weddell seal
Baby animals are typically pretty cute, especially, when that baby animal is a young Weddell seal! Look at that cubby monster!! It is the youngest Weddell seal that I have seen with my expedition trips

Brown Bluff, Antarctica
This landing site is impressive with the high towering bluffs and lots of icebergs surrounding this stretch of water. Another amazing thing about this area is the huge breeding colony of Adelie and Gentoo

Going foraging for lunch
Well, I would apologize for the wave of penguin shots I have posted of late but in honestly they are great photography subjects. Their constant squabbling and comedic presence makes them undeniably impossible

Adelie Penguins on ice
Penguins are by far one current guarantee when you explore the Antarctic Peninsula that and ice, with 3 brush tail species breeding along the long stretch of the continent, Gentoo, Chinstrap & Adelie

taking a nap on an ice floe
We are back on the Antarctic Peninsula after exploring the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, which have been a new experience for me and absolutely mind-blowing to say the least. However, the peninsula

Start the morning with an Orca encounter
530am can be quite a bit too early to wake up for most people on a work day but when you know that you are in a great Orca zone to interact with the apex predators of the ocean. You seem to have a bit

heading to the ocean for some food
penguins are funny creatures and typically will use a few areas where they will enter and exit the water, which at times can cause a slight 'traffic jam' of adorable animals. These Adelie penguins were

The circle of life is a beautiful thing and at times it can seem a bit harsh and well... aggressive. Especially, when you see the death of one animal that provides life|food & energy to another. For

Icebergs can be pretty damn big down here
So when we are down here "working" away running expeditions twice a day, there is a lot of waiting around on zodiacs, as they slowly lower them from the top of the ship from a crane, which can

Getting close to the peninsula
We are back on another sea day today, as we inch closer to the Antarctic Peninsula, which I can not wait to back around this beautiful part of the Southern Ocean. Yesterday we had the unexpected day at

Old man wearing a brown jacket?
These chicks are kind of adorable but at the same time they also resemble a physique that can be seen in older gentleman. Is that a bit too harsh to say? Don't get me wrong they are very cute penguin chicks

They are pretty impressive on shore
Elephant seals have always impressed me with their size and of course their aggression when they are ashore during their breeding season. So, it was by far a dream come true when I had the opportunity

A busy beach
The view on some remote beaches on the sub-antarctic islands are intense! At times, quite hard to actually land on as well, due to the fact they are so incredibly crowded with 100's of 1,000's of animals

a moment with a pair of King Penguins
Penguins are adorable, I am 100% certain I have said this before and will no doubt say it again and again. Also, they smell a bit when they are congregated in large breeding areas. This place for example
