Penguins are adorable, I am 100% certain I have said this before and will no doubt say it again and again. Also, they smell a bit when they are congregated in large breeding areas. This place for example has roughly 200,000 breeding pairs of King Penguins, which is called St. Andrews on South Georgia Island. However, despite their pungent odor, which is inescapable you are drawn to their clumsy waddling and stunning presence.
As I was exploring this colony with some of my co-workers, I witnessed a pair of penguins whom appeared to be newly re-united, as they sung, facing one another for quite a long period of time. Slowly, raising their heads, followed by lowering them to their chest in such an intimate and graceful way, which was hypnotizing. This was a beautiful moment to witness . They may smell but it is impossible not to be moved by these animals in such rare moments.
