Somedays it blows my mind that so many animals can "comfortably" fit in such a small and somewhat dangerous area. Take these Macaroni penguins for example, it looks crowded from this photo I took earlier this year in South Georgia, correct?
Well, yes! it is very crowded with little to nowhere to move. However, what you do not really see in this photo is that it is a steep cliff face and if these little guys trip and slip then they are falling/bouncing a meters back into the ocean below.
Somehow they make it work.. perhaps they are just polite and courteous to one another due to the obvious and potential danger. Ensuring that everyone in the colony stays as safe as possible, which I believe is a lovely sentiment.
