first season away from Antarctica

As someone who grew up in the tropical Queensland in Australia, I can comfortably say I have become quite accustom to warm weather. To say that the colder weather was something that I dreaded and found quite unpleasant is something of an understatement. However, after experiencing more colder climates these past several years I believe I almost prefer the cold. My friends would be quite shocked to hear me say such a thing...

It could be that I do just miss the regions I have not been able to explore this season due to the ongoing global pandemic. I miss having the opportunity to experiencing such things like humpback whales breaching metres away from me in the icy conditions of Antarctica. I must say that this year off of my usual guiding work has made me become even more grateful for what I get to do. I can't wait to get back down there once again. My fingers are crossed for the end of the year.
