We all gotta eat, don’t we? For the Chinstrap penguin it is typically a diet of Krill, fish & squid from which they can swim up to 80km away from their nests each day to obtain! Once they do make it back to their nest and chicks they will regurgitate, which does require food to be digested for several hours beforehand. This rich food source allows the chicks to grow quickly and roughly at about 60 days after they hatch, they will fledge into their adult coats and go to sea.
