Once you cross the infamous Drake Passage and make your way to the more protected waters that surround the Antarctic peninsula you can be blessed with some of the most beautiful landscapes that this world has to offer. This was true for us a few days ago, as we attempted to do a land excursion at Cuverville Island on the peninsula but was greeted with gale force winds and 4-ft waves, which is not essentially impossible for taking 100 people to a landing site.

However, that afternoon we cruised further south along the Gerlache Strait and found some protection amongst the Islands near the Lemaire Channel. This made for some sweet landscapes of the peninsula during the early evening and an opportunity to grab my camera in between some presentation I was preparing for our guests on board. A pretty awesome way to have a short break I reckon
