The perks of being back at full time work is getting up at 5am and leaving the house at dawn. Most of the times, the colors are simply spectacular, and sometimes I have the time to step on the roof and take a picture or two.

So, yes appreciation of beauty is back in my life. The relief I felt when I was able to truly enjoy it again, take out the camera, and take a few shots at it.

Doesn't mean I'm done yet. Naturally, there is way more ugly around then beauty. And it just takes a minute, a few ideas about perspectives, to make the boring seem interesting. The mundane seem special.

A little move downward. Same sky. Same moment. Same place. Different feeling.

Suddenly, it looks like the beach. The million hoof prints form the horses that were held on that dry and sad piece of land somehow shape up just like the ripples in the sand down at the coast. Another change of perspective, and the sky is gone.

A wasteland. But some bushes survived, for now. Feeding on the morning mist I'd say. How else? Everything is dry, and still drying up.

But even within the drought there is color persisting. The flower is dry, if I'd touch it, it would feel like parchment paper. I don't touch it, though, no need for that. With experience, you just know. And even if you'd be surprised - the surprise is usually not that far off the last experience you had.

There is life, too. Lush green, for some reason. Maybe they get watered? I doubt it. Probably just more resilient, or deeper roots over a water eye. It's a shame that I can't focus two things at once. The flower, and the moon that is right at the tips of the stigmas. I tried. But the other pictures didn't turn out well enough, either. Photographing the moon is not my cellphones favorites.

So, yes, I'm still alive. Working hard. Both in the bakery, as well as personally, on my emotions, personality. Grieving, still. Not loosing hope, but managing expectations. Life is easier on low expectations. That way, one isn't derailed as easily. It takes too much effort to get back on track after something like that. Rather prepare than be sorry. And luckily, I have many tracks to choose from. Life is good. Just not as good as it could be.
