Unofficial Write Club Update
"Ellie Finds a Friend" is in final revisions, so I should be (hopefully) posting that here this week. I can't wait to share her with you all, and I hope you love her as much as I do :)
I'm really thankful for the suggestions and critiques I've received from the folks at @TheWritersBlock. If you're a writer looking for an awesome community of other writers, click the image below to join us on Discord!
The 2nd Write Club prompt was posted Sunday evening by @jordan.lesich, and oh my word. It's going to be a real challenge figuring out how to turn this one into the next Ellie story. Basically we're supposed to write about two seemingly unrelated things. By the end of the story one of those things becomes a metaphor that relates to the other thing.
To see what I'm talking about, read Chicxulub by T.C. Boyle. I warn you, though, it is extremely riveting. You will drop everything in order to find out what happens.
Contests
@GMuxx, one of the founders of @TheWritersBlock, runs a series of contests that have two parts: Art Prompt Contest and Art Prompt Writing Contest. The winning artwork for part one is used as the writing prompt for part 2.
Last week he announced his Art Prompt Writing Contest #9, and I have been busy working on my entry for that. I'm hoping to submit it to TWB soon for critique. I have till February 1st, so you should see my entry posted here within the next week or so!
There are a few other writing contests out there, including this one by @josie2214, that I'm considering entering. We'll see!
And More!
But wait, there's more!
Recently at TWB a new channel was started called #writers-workout. Here we get weekly assignments to help exercise our writing skills. In addition to my Ellie stories and contest entries, I'm also participating in these exercises. Anything to help me be a better writer!

Come join us at the block to learn about what our next exercise is! We would love to have you there!
