It seems summer has gone, at least that’s what the calendar says, but those summer vibes and sensations are still in the air. The heat is still here, though in a more harmonious and pleasant way; it doesn’t get dark quite so early yet, even though the days have grown shorter.
In short, whoever decides when summer ends, I reckon it takes a breather when people start to feel a bit of a chill. And I think that, at least round here, summer doesn’t want to leave; it just takes a break from its intensity, making the days and nights more pleasant, especially for enjoying strolls, walks, visits and outings, and for savouring nature or the city.
It’s been a very unusual summer for me, some health topics, my mum’s operations, and having to adapt to all that, and it seems that, at least for me, summer slipped by without me even realising it. I think the two things I missed most were my trips to the beach, which I hardly managed to go to at all, and painting rocks, something I’m growing to love more and more every day. But this summer helped me realise there are alternatives when it comes to those rocks. And it was the queen of this community who opened my eyes to this.
After that, I received many signs, signs telling me, ‘Go down that path.’ I’ve got a lot of research ahead of me, but I’m excited about it.
It’s also been a very strange summer, with extreme humidity, something that’s never happened in the city before. I mean, the climate is humid, but this year it got to the point where you could hardly breathe; it was stifling and oppressive. My low blood pressure problem flared up again, something I hadn’t experienced here in eight years, which is why I think it’s all been so strange.
But you can always find something positive in everything, or at least I always try to. Summer’s gone, but I really do think it still has one foot in the city. The afternoons are lovely, though humid, and walks along the beach are wonderful. At sunset, the sky is painted with pink hues in the clouds, creating some marvellous scenery.
When I’m lying on the grass, I love taking photos; the same goes for when I’m walking along the seafront, admiring the giants, there are always some of them there, and everyone takes photos of them.
Of course, for me, the stars of the summer, although they reign all year round, are the waves and the foam that roll in from the sea and caress the sand. The palm trees stand as tall guardians of the beach, and all of this comes together to make for a spectacular summer with a truly uplifting atmosphere.
Naturally, I’m a big fan of sunbathing, a huge fan, in fact, and although I haven’t been able to do so this year, I have been able to enjoy walks at various sunsets, a tradition that continues to this day.
Recently, as the summer vibes lingered into autumn, I went for a walk where the sunset was beautifully coloured, the palm trees looked black, and the horizon stretched out into the vast distance.
A seagull was nearby, but luckily it didn’t steal what I had in my rucksack. I managed to snap a photo of it, I’m sure it was planning to steal someone’s food; that’s just how they are. This seagull told me it had been on another beach far from here and had stolen food from someone from Hive. Could it have been the queen of the community? It’s possible.
The afternoon was so lovely and the surroundings so pleasant that I stayed until night fell and the city began to light up; it’s always beautiful, always.
It was then that I set off on my return journey, not to bid farewell to summer, but to say ‘see you later’, because the summer vibes will carry on for a while longer, and I love that.
Thank you so much for joining me today; I’m sending you all some lovely vibes. See you soon.
Amonet.
